Although you are so interested in creating some Window Art in your own home. When you try and find out how the artwork is created, what materials and brands are used, what the process is, you fall into a rabbit hole of possible answers but nothing is clear or final.
I'm a mural and lettering artist based in the North West of the UK.
My journey into Window Art started with a window in my home village, at a delicatessen that I worked in at the time.
After having my daughter in 2015 I’d taken up Modern Calligraphy, as a mindfulness activity, and had taught myself how to create those lovely letters. Then one day I’d offered to have a go at painting some positive messaging on the windows of that delicatessen for the festive season….and so my journey began!
Over the seasons I would change the window and its messaging and that bought me new attention and then more business. Through each new window I would learn a new method, a better way of achieving something, make mistakes, run into problems but also improve my style and create bigger and better each time. This also became a great source of relaxation and mindfulness for me; creativity can have such a calming, trance effect on us.
I now have over 6 years of working experience with painting windows and absolutely love creating unique designs to brighten up spaces! I’ve learnt the skill inside and out and have the knowledge and passion to help you achieve beautiful artwork in your own home window spaces. This course will help you to enjoy a new creative hobby that brings mindfulness practice into play and at the end leaves you with a skill that allows you to add positive, beautiful artwork to your home windows year round.

Inside this course you'll learn...
all the Tools and Materials you'll need to get creating a piece of Window Art
how to create the letter shapes of Modern Calligraphy and form them into a design piece fitting for your window
explore illustration styles and work on finding out what you're drawn to
how to create a design layout; working out how is best to work to the window space you are using
pulling all the elements together to create a design for your piece of Window Art! We'll work off of a template for the course that you can adjust as you need to
how best to work at a vertical, glass space. Getting into some fun trial and error whilst learning to paint on glass!
Ready to take a look at how your month in the course will look?!...
W E E K 1
To start us off we'll be jumping straight into Tools & Materials.
You'll learn all about the best types of paints for glass and how they work. We'll also dive into my toolbox for all the must haves for Window Art.
We'll then make a focus on Lettering, specifically modern calligraphy. I'll show you the shapes and strokes of letter shapes and how best to create them on glass.
W E E K 2
For week 2 we'll move onto Illustration.
We'll look at different styles and give you inspiration on what you're drawn to, before focusing on our course design.
Following from this we will focus on Design Layout. Here we will begin to map out your windows and work out how to best to create a design within your space.
W E E K 3
Now we'll get into some painting!
To start you off we will have a practise go at working on glass, getting a feel for the surface and the tools you have.
There will then be a Live Workshop during this week where we can paint together and troubleshoot any of your queries.
W E E K 4
Finally you will spend this week working on your on piece of Window Art at home.
We will finish off the course with some feedback from me on your new wonderful window.
During each week you will have the opportunity to submit your working to me for feedback....I'm here with you every step of the way!
I've been where you are...
7 years ago I needed a mindfulness activity in my life and creativity was the perfect fit. Learning the art of modern calligraphy and then beginning to transfer that skill and learn more with window art was a wonderful way to achieve it.
However there were not easily accessible answers to the questions I had about achieving the best results, and no one on hand to bounce thoughts off of. This was frustrating and time consuming. I also lacked self confidence to believe in what I could create, and that sometimes could take the joy from it all.
In this course I am with you every step of the way to give you all the knowledge you'll need to create your own Window Art at home. Through hours of video tutorials, workbooks to complete and email feedback directly with me each week of this 4 week course.
