Have you ever wondered how to create the lovely letters of modern calligraphy?! Well this is the workshop for you! Come and join me along with a group of fellow budding calligraphers to enjoy a relaxing morning of lettering.
 
This is an informal, interactive workshop with the aim of providing you with the basic practical skills and inspiration to create your own lettering style as well as finding a new creative hobby.
 
Each of you will be provided with your own personalised ‘starter kit' of materials to use during the workshop and take home with you.
 
We will begin by talking about modern calligraphy - where it stems from and it's structure. We will then explore different tools that can be used to create calligraphy along with their best instances of use, before focusing solely on faux and brush calligraphy. We'll spend some time practising brush strokes and letter shapes before finally working on your own piece of lettered artwork to take home with you.
 
Calligraphy takes time, practise and perseverance to master. We all have our own tastes, it’s about creating your own style. This workshop will aim to leave you with the basic tools and tricks to take away and continue learning at your own pace - confident to continue your lettering practise.

• Pencil
• Pen
• Water brush pen
• Paint or Ink (suitable for the workshop theme)
• Final piece template
